Due to unfortunate circumstances, the screening of the world's first science documentary in Sanskrit 'Yaanam' (detailed below) scheduled for September 28, 2022 has been cancelled.

Details of the Event:

IIT Bombay is organising screening of the world's first science documentary in Sanskrit 'Yaanam' which recounts the story of India's prestigious Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM). Ministry of Culture, Government of India is projecting this film as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. 

About the film: 

It is a 44-minute-long film that recounts the story of India's Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM) or Mangalyaan. The film Yaanam is directed by national award-winning filmmaker Vinod Mankara and produced by A.V. Anoop under the banner AVA Productions. The word Yaanam means 'journey' in Sanskrit. The movie is based on the book MY ODYSSEY by Dr. K Radhakrishnan. 

About Dr. Radhakrishnan: 

Dr. Radhakrishnan is the Chairman, BOG-IIT Kanpur & Ropar, and Standing Committee of IIT Council; Member, National Security Advisory Board; Member, Space Commission; Chairperson, Oversight  Committee-Science & Engineering Research Board - DST/GOI. He was former Chairman of ISRO.
