Speaker: Dr. Ariel Rubinstein is a professor of economics at the New York University and the Tel Aviv University.

Abstract of the talk:

We are all decision-making agents. Strategic decisions are made for both leisure and non-leisure activities. Examples for the latter include decisions about monthly expenditure out of a given budget, and those for the former include (say) when to declare in a test match. All our decisions are either mostly instinctive or contemplative - depending on what is apt for any given situation. It is also true, however, that most of us lean on one of the two extremes more often than the other. In this talk we will learn where we ourselves fall in the decision-making spectrum between extremely contemplative and immediately instinctive.

The presenter requests you to do (preferably before December 8, 2021) some fun decision-making tasks at https://arielrubinstein.org/gt/student/poll.asp?group=41440. Our decisions in these tasks will be broadly discussed in the Institute lecture.
