National Education Day is observed annually in India to commemorate the birth anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, the first education minister of independent India. The National Education Day of India is celebrated on 11th November every year.

IIT Bombay is organizing the National Education Day programme (online) on Thursday, November 11, 2021 from 3.30 pm to 4.30 pm, where the IIT Bombay Research Excellence Awards 2020 will be conferred on our faculty member awardees.

Dr. R.A. Mashelkar  recipient of prestigious awards such as Padma Shri, Padma Bhushan, Padma Vibhushan, Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize for Science and Technology and several other awards and is a member of numerous scientific bodies and committees will be the Chief Guest on the occasion.

The programme schedule is as follows:

• 03:30 PM to 03:35 PM: Welcome by Associate Dean (R&D)
• 03:35 PM to 03:45 PM: Introduction by Director, IIT Bombay Prof. Subhasis Chaudhuri
• 03:45 PM to 04:05 PM: Presentation by Dean (R&D) about the Research Excellence Awards and conferment to the awardees
• 04:05 PM to 04:25 PM: Speech by the Chief Guest Dr. R A Mashelkar
• 04:25 PM to 04.30 PM: Vote of Thanks by PRO
